I have been an advisor to For Freedoms, which catalyzes public discourse and civic engagement through the arts. In fall 2018, the organization spearheaded the 50 State Initiative, the largest creative collaboration in U.S. history. Please read this feature in The Daily Beast for more information. As part of the Initiative, I spoke at town halls on freedom, art, and democracy at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Skoll World Forum, Sundance Film Festival, and the Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art. For Freedoms also reinvented the iconic Normal Rockwell Four Freedoms images, and its new versions--which reflect a more inclusive America--made it to the covers of TIME magazine and the New York Times. In early 2020, I helped produce the For Freedoms Congress in Los Angeles, CA, which brought together hundreds of artists and arts professionals from around the country.
